About us
Alluminous Light Art Festival is an annual event in Almere, held during the autumn school holidays, that brings together art, technology and audience experience in a unique way. Since its first edition in 2022, Alluminous has grown into one of the most prominent light art festivals in the Netherlands. The event, celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026, is free to attend and attracted more than 60,000 visitors during its most recent edition.

About Alluminous
During the autumn school holidays, the area around the Weerwater is transformed into a walking route featuring large-scale light art installations, bringing together visual art, dramaturgy, technology and interactive experiences in a rich and layered evening program.
In this way, Alluminous serves not only as a platform for presenting art, but also as a practical environment where technological innovation becomes visible and tangible to a broad audience.
Alluminous is firmly rooted in Almere and works together with numerous cultural institutions, businesses and educational organisations. The strength of Alluminous as a collaborative organisation lies in this interdisciplinary exchange: the festival acts as a link between art, technology, education and the public.
Through co-productions with local theatres, museums and educational institutions, a wide range of expertise is brought together, resulting in innovative artistic projects, educational programs and opportunities for talent development in the city. The festival is therefore not only a presentation platform, but also a driving force for talent development, education and innovation.
The program features works by both national and international artists, as well as co-productions with local partners and creators.
Alluminous is an initiative of the Ondernemersvereniging Stadscentrum Almere (OVSA), in collaboration with Centrum Partners Almere. Together with an experienced core team and the expertise of its many partners, the association ensures that Alluminous can continue to grow and develop as a major cultural event during the autumn school holidays.
