Mannie Krrak (on behalf of BonteHond)

This artwork originated from an educational project with over 600 primary school students in Almere. Each child created a lampshade depicting the stimuli they experience—fun, exciting, loud, or soft. Artist Mannie Krak combined all these mini-artworks into one large light artwork. She plays with perspective, so that your perspective constantly shifts. The artwork thus demonstrates that stimuli are never the same and are never experienced in the same way.

About the artist

Artist Mannie Krak (Amsterdam, 1980) has been working as an artist in Almere since her studies at ArtEZ and the Sandberg Institute, creating installations in which nature, technology, the reuse of materials, and light are recurring elements in playful and curious works. She has exhibited her work at venues including the Nature Art Park in Lelystad (2019-2024), Zilver op het Water in Lelystad and Almere (2018-2024), Oerol (2002), 'Veste Verlicht' in Goes (2019), and the exhibition 'Magical Mystery Tour' at KAF, Almere (2017).
