PITAYA Studio
In the trees luminous birds seem to have settled for a while. The setting evokes a moment as if they where just taking off for a flight. The birds, which take up residence in the trees evoke a luminous migration, like if they would resume their journey to move far away. Their shapes are simple and pure forms, like a reminiscent of delicate origami.

About the artist
PITAYA Studio is founded by designers David Lesort (1976, Lyon) and Arnaud Hiroud (1977, Lyon). Their first light art installation in the public space was in 2006 for Fête des Lumières. PITAYA is a light design studio specialised in art installations for public spaces. Their field of study comes mainly from object design and how the light can reveal the materials and the shapes of the objects they create. Their design is often poetic and playful. Previous presentations were among others Site specific light installations for Ginza Avenue in Tokyo (Japan) in 2016 and 2017, light installations for the light Festival and the City of Genova (Switzerland) from 2020 to 2024, and several installations at the Botanic parks of Melbourne and Peth (Austalia) 2025.
